The Dream Lives On:
A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As a gift to the community, the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra's third concert of the season was a free concert on the Saturday afternoon before Martin Luther King Day. Featured music included movements from Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, and works for string orchestra such as Shostakovich’s heart-wrenching Chamber Symphony, that underscored the solemnity of the occasion and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s non-violent transcendence of the brutal divisiveness of his times.
